And YES! The end of the show, they get SIGNED! Simon always signs the finalists, every single damn one of them.... if going by the UK version. So the more marketable artists in the final = the more money he makes. There ain't no way Simon is signing Marcus or Josh. So yes, a potential signing and album + single sales are down the drain thanks to Nicole. You saw his face when Drew left. He had $ in his eyes when he saw her and it was obvious. And no one is saying she was the next Susan Boyle. Simon doesnt want a Susan Boyle on X Factor. He looks for a young modern contemporary artist. Rachel was that. She is nothing to him now. Also don't get me started on Nicole ruining a young girl's dreams when Marcus was in bottom 2 for 3rd time. Was there any sense saving him? Give Rachel a second chance!! Nicole is doing fine in the UK and she might not as big as Cheryl there, but she's definitely bigger internationally. Stop pretending Cheryl is big in the rest of Europe. Even non-Cheryl stan ATRL members have confirmed she's not.
So what if they're signed by him? Simon is making most of the profit through the show, not the winner. Are any of the X Factor UK winners really successful other than Leona? Not really. And again, stop pretending Rachel was super marketable artist. Seriously?
