A man from Calimanesti was killed on Tuesday by the pig he was trying to slaughter, after the animal hit the man in the hand that was holding the knife and the blade ended up in the man’s neck.
According to Valcea Police officials, the incident happened in the presence of several neighbors who had been called by the man in order to help him slaughter the pig.
“While the people there were getting ready to slaughter the pig, the animal kicked the hand that was holding the knife and the blade hit the man in the neck. The man died bled out instantly. An ambulance was called, but there was nothing more to be done,” a spokesperson for the Valcea Police, Eusebiu Predonescu, said.
The man was 49 years old.
