Somewhat of a compliment from NY Times review of the show last night, who trashed everyone except Gaga.

The tenor of Jingle Ball, always, is move it along, work that brand, sell that phrase; on Friday, it was a three-and-a-half hour show with 11 acts, so tight that you felt the seconds moving, deep in your stomach.
The higher artistic refinements occurred whenever time appeared to stretch. There was no way it could have happened in the short slots given to Hot Chelle Rae, a feckless group with excellent hair, and Foster the People, a group that almost hides serious band dynamics behind hard-sell surfaces. It simply did not happen in fuzzy, desultory sets by Demi Lovato and Gym Class Heroes, both of whom gave the impression that they had better things to do. It came very close to happening in a set by Kelly Clarkson, whose voice gleamed with light and power. It did happen in several places during Gaga’s 45-minute set.

In 2008, when [Lady Gaga's] first single, “Let’s Dance,” entered Z-100’s playlist, she played Jingle Ball’s short opening slot.
kelly clarkson being the only singer this year, playing in all show jingle balls
