Its been bubbling since Madonna and Gwen, and hit its stride in 2007/2008.

Its been smashing ever since.

I think dance will evolve though.

Less faux dance pop and more actual dance/house music.
I'm sure dub will only get bigger

I do think Hip-Hop/R&B dominance ended in 2007, when "Low" hit #1 stayed there for 10 weeks and went on to sell over 6 million everything was sealed

after thinking about it , a decade is maybe a stretch but i fail to imagine what genre would be strong enough to replace it

Just because one artist has the biggest hit of the year thats not a dance song doesn't mean the genera is ending.. When other artists follow suit.. then we can call it

For now though i do think that the public is being open to more than dance which a few years ago they were not.. im so here for that diversity though

I love turning on the radio and going from hearing TEOG to them playing RITD.. great mix so that it doesnt get boring..

Dance music isnt going anywhere. The trashy, over-produced American dance music will eventually fade just like how it didnt exist when the ACTUAL start of dance music in pop started. I think we will see more Hold It Against Me & We Found Love and less Party Rock Anthem & On The Floor which is better. I think House and Dubstep will make its way into Pop within the next year.

I think eventually the charts will be Beyonce, GaGa and ADELE vs Rihanna, Katy & Britney to some extent.

It will end in 2012.

Yeah I thik it's going to be one of the longest trends in popular music history. It's like Top 40 radio found the perfect genre to play.
