It's desperate, but I don't really give a damn. It was desperate when Rihanna did it with her 1st single, and it's desperate that Katy is doing it with her 6th just to break Micheal's record. But I mean that asterisk will always be there so I'm not mad.

I'm just bumping this because I saw that my pop radio station posted a Facebook status about how Katy Perry is "cheating" by discounting TOTGA to 69 cents...

Does this mean that the general public is noticing discounts, or is it just my radio station being bitchy?

Well, now they are That is one shady radio station you got there. I thought people in the outside world didn't care too much if an artist discounts, but with how often the BTW deal has been brought up by the media [and people on my facebook back then(/anecdotal evidence)] and now this, I think the public is catching on to it if the tactic is really obvious. Stuff like OG discounted to 0.99 doesn't seem to make waves cause it was more subtle.

There's nothing wrong with putting music on sale. It's the same as putting food or clothing on sale.
