I have so much respect for artists who write and produce their songs. That's one of the reasons why I stan for Gaga.

She's always been an involved writer and has written half of GL alone. She's produced a few songs on her own for GL and she's always been very involved with production coming up with melodies and asking for a very specific sound (just watch making of The Best Damn Thing) and tbh some lesser credit stealing girls would try claim co-production credits for the level of involvement she brings but Avril share's fairly.

She's also co-produced most- if not all- of her songs.


But all of my favorite artists have a heavy hand in the songwriting, and quite a few participate in the producing as well.

Hilary is really involved, tbh.
