You can blame most of the ommissions on the Grammy decision to remove some of the R&B and Pop catagories. Some artists complained at the time that many artist would not be nominated. Looks like they were correct.

Foo Fighters? I'd have to agree out of the AOTY nominees these are the only two I really enjoyed the whole cd. I say Adele will probably win but I myself prefered the Foo Fighters album and they could really pull the upset

We were told last year that Eminem was going to dominate. Remember?? He had sold millions of CD's and all of the music experts predicted he would dominate. He had 10 noms only won 2 only in the Rap catagory[. Be careful making predictions.

Lady Gaga is nominated in this category for the third year in a row with Born This Way. She was nominated two years ago for her debut album, The Fame, and last year for her EP, The Fame Monster. Gaga is the first artist to be nominated for Album Of The Year three years in a row since the Beatles were nominated five years in a row from 1965–1969. Foo Fighters' Wasting Light is the band's second studio album in a row to make the finals in this category. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace was nominated four years ago. I don't think that Adele is going to win out, but let's take note of the fact that Em is a Hip-Hop artist, who almost always come up short at the Grammys, while Adele is about as Grammy-bait as you can get.
