I'm not suggesting that Rihanna needed Calvin to go #1, would have been # 1 anyway, I'm sure
But many of you talk about Calvin as if he was a nobody and that's what bothers me, there are people like me who listen to WFL because of Calvin
lol @ whoever said Black and Yellow had no longevity in the chart...
I know nobody likes the song, but it has a LOT of longevity, even if it only got 1 week at #1.
Also, not sure if E.T. can be included, since it's almost certain it would've got #1 without a remix.
Also, not sure if Party Rock Anthem can be included. It's not that it has "featured" artists. It's just that they went overboard with the crediting. If the song was released 20 years ago, the producer (Goonrock) wouldn't have been credited, and Lauren Bennett would have uncredited background vocals.
Also, it's silly to point out that there's lots of collaborations in the RnB and hip hop charts! Of course there is! It's a key part of urban music which has crossed over to pop music in the past decade.
Also, Black and Yellow DID have a remix, featuring Snoop Dogg, Juicy J and T-Pain. So if you include the Last Friday Night remix, you should include that too. And the Moves Like Jagger remix.
And infact, pretty much every #1 in the past 10 years had a remix featuring a rapper or a dance remix.
A feature helps if it's big names all around, but that's it.
Also keep in mind that features are more common nowadays, so it's natural to see more features at #1. Does that mean the feature is the reason? Not always. Just playing the odds means several will top the charts.
