Do you attain your music through legal or illegal measures?
I personally attain most of my music from sites like Mediafire and btjunkie. I only actually purchase music on Itunes when I really support an artist. For example, I mostly just buy music from my fave (Gaga) and even then I usually download leaks before the album starts selling .
I thought this was a really interesting topic that we deal with a lot, so I am doing research on it through my marketing class. I would really appreciate if you took time and filled out this survey. It's completely anonymous, I just really need as many people to participate and I thought ATRL would be a great resource.
I purchase CDs and have since the early 90s. I have a room that is full of them. I will download an album in advance when it leaks. If I like at least 4 songs, I will buy the full album. If not, I will purchase the singles I like.
I make sure to buy an album a week (usually a physical copy).
But I do download the album in advance to see if it's any good, there are tons of music sharing sites/blogs out there.
P.S: Not to mention that I almost download 3 albums daily. (illegally)

I like the idea that if you like at least four songs, you'll buy the album. I feel like I should definitely do that because I love most of Ceremonials by Florence but I'm just being really cheap in not buying it .
Also, do you guys think that the older generation is a lot more likely to buy albums as opposed to those that are now under like 25? I think a lot has to do with disposable income and "tech-saviness".

Yeah of course they are. I'm 23 and I started downloading music when I was like 13 so it's natural to me, but to an older person it's probably more natural to buy CDs. Income and tech-saviness probably has a bit to do with it too. But me and my friends that are my age have a lot more money now than we did as teenagers but we still don't buy music legally. Once you're used to getting it for free you don't wanna start paying for it I think.

That's true. The older generation is much more used to buying a CD since they pretty much had no choice because even if they like just one song from the album, they had to buy the whole album to listen to it.
Google (Hulkshare, Mediafire, etc.) or Twitter (for newly leaked albums). It still shocks me when people ask for links here when there are so many simply resources if they just attempted to look. Even the little music blogs like Ali, JamxClusive, etc.
I buy from iTunes though. Physical CDs for Britney and/or random purchases that I'm really into. (Foster The People this year).
All iTunes
I buy alot of physical copies though. Probably spent a $100+ this year on Adele (both 21 and Live DVD), Gaga, Bey, Jay & Ye, Tinie Tempah, J.Cole, Florence, Big Sean.
I still want to buy FTP & Bon Iver physical copies before the year ends.
I think it would probably be against rules for me to link to each specific website.
I would say 'google search' in general though. with an added '.mp3' after the song title so it can find the file directly. I DONT STEAL ALL MY MUSIC THOUGH- i used some free mp3 giftcard thingy to buy marrythenight and i paid for bornthisway(thesingle)
