Set Fire to the Rain is a good song, and I'm sure it'll be big, but I can't see it being as big as I Gotta Feeling. That song was really something else tbh. I don't think we'll ever see a hit as big as that ever again.

We will. "I Gotta Feeling" was a sales juggernaut, but when it comes to airplay, there have been bigger hits in recent years. There will be times we will have bigger hits than IGF in the future. I don't think SFTTR will be it at all, but something in the future will top it.

What was IGF's AI peak?


I remember We Belong Together & Irreplaceable were really huge airplay-wise, but weren't really exceptional sellers.
So those are like, two extremes.

A song with a combination of both would be MASSIVE though.

SFTTR and all future songs form 21 does not have chance to outsell IGF just because they has already sold almost 5M copies as part of album. BEP album was not such monster seller and that give more chances to singles. If you think about it RITD has sold already more than 10M copies (5,5M as single + 4,7M as part of album), and to think that it's still selling strong is quite impressive.

okay i dont know if anyone else thought this....but since we are talking bout big sales!!! how the hell did just dance go 6x platinum.....the song was okay .... maybe a 3x plat worthy...but it was definitely not the kind of song that should have gone 6 million!!!! it is just another disco song.....blah!

Y&I took almost a week to get there after video release, and it was a period with much less competition. It is a 5th single, after all.

Not for Katy, Rihanna and Beyonce and much more artists.
