She basically took a wrecking ball to her own career. This era could have been huge. With the momentum from TF(M) behind it, handled right it could been even biggger. Sadly she decided she was no longer a pop star and was now the bullied underdog super-une-artiste Madame le Gaga, who was bullied as a child by being thrown in trash cans. Also, she was bullied, and she overcame said bullies. cause she's an artiste. Also, she was bullied.
The era was mismanaged, the Album is perfect. Directors could have juxtaposed light colorful music videos scenery with dark pop music with heavy synths and instrumentals (TFM style) but she chose to do it all herself and showed us all what happens when too much artistic control over a product and its delivery can go wrong. Oh well.
perhaps next era will be better. I still love BTW (The Album)
I'm not here for another The Fame. I'm extremely happy with this album, and this Era, and I couldn't care less about Billboard Hot 100. I see your point, but I don't share it
Let me get this straight. Born This Way is my fav 2011 album, the videos are the best of all this year and I love the singles.
So, to get to my point: What's going on with the Born This Way era?
I mean, her singles should be #1 (or at least top 5/top10) all around the world, but it's not working...
This is really not that confusing. Most people don't agree with you that Gaga is doing good work right now—they scratch their heads, laugh at its absurdity and then ignore her. Thus, the hits aren't coming like they used to.

I can see your point though I don't agree completely..She should release 'Scheiße' as the final single and come back with a new album at the end of next year.
