The Marry The Night video isn't good, stop it
The video opens with Gaga in a clinic (not quite sure what the actual purpose is behind the clinic, hell, I'm not sure what half of the **** in this video is supposed to mean), where she does a nice little voiceover that alludes to a previous suicide attempt. Pretty promising, right?
Unfortunately, the video goes to hell after the first two minutes. I'm not even quite sure what is going on in the next part with her in the clinic, but I really feel like I'm watching a failed British short subject about girls in the cuckoo's nest. That is probably the best and only way to describe this part of the video. But you still have a good 8 or so minutes left, things will surely get better.
They don't. The next scene involves what I can only presume as her having a breakdown, although it comes off as more as a dramatic drug high (which would have made sense and been really good considering what the time period is supposed to be). Especially the bit with the Cheerios and the cereal. Then there's a bath tub in the middle of her apartment's living room which she bathes(?) in. What the ****? I'm sure that's all that was going through your head. Then she bleaches the **** out of her hair for a while and that's that.
Now what's with this weird ass part in some type of....hall? And why is Madonna making a cameo in this video? Either way, this part is just straight out confusing and should never have even been considered as a scene for her "best video ever."
At this point there's actually music playing (a not-so-often occurrence for recent Gaga videos) and she is now magically gyrating on a car like it's a White Snake video. The second verse takes us into a dance studio (kind of big leaps in her career, right?) for whatever purpose. Then we go back to the car lot. That's pretty much the end with other random bits from the video playing.
Oh yeah and there was this ballerina interlude that had Gaga wearing an outfit she wore when she was promoting "Born This Way." However, as we know, she has never been known for her dancing and I'm quite sure she wasn't a ballerina. However, this part isn't as bad as the others as I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say this scene is meant to represent her dreams. Or some **** like that. Never give up on yourself.
Really though, where is the quality in this video? The plot is so broken it's unbelievable. The only way to actually attempt to understand the concept is to highly infer the events and reasoning behind them in the video. None of the separate scenes have any type of a connection and just leave the viewer in shock and disbelief of what they just watched. I dare someone to give me an explanation as to why this video is so beautiful besides saying, "It's deep. It's about Gaga's personal life even though I don't understand ****. Why can't you see how beautiful this is? Dumb****," or some other deluded statement made by a stan.
