Their 4th Album, "Taking the Long Way" comes out on May 23rd. The first single "Not Ready to Make Nice" is actually getting some play on country stations already, despite her comments about George W. Bush during a London concert in 2003.

It's a great song and I like it. Still has a sort of country feel to it. Hope they're still sucessful because they're awesome though Natalie Maines is quite an outspoken girl saying things like she's done with country music, that she didn't even like country music growing up in Entertainment Weekly and that in doing country music, she's learn that all the stereotypes about country music are true. Any thoughts??

I absolutely love it. One of the best country songs I've heard. I hope its a #1

Where can I hear it?

Not really suprise that Country radio is a little nicer to them. They spoke out at a time when Bush was still pretty popular...but with a 30% approval rating, alot of people probably look back at their comments and now agree. Funny how things like that happen. They rock.

Didn't they have a single out before this?

Yeah, they released a charity single for Hurricane Katrina called "I Hope" which is included on the album. It didn't do anything on the charts since it was rather r&b-ish.

I hate to break it to you but nobody cares about the Dixie Chicks. They have big mouths and have bashed many artists including classy artists like Shania.
Who the hell do they think they are? They aren't even close to being in Shania's league but yet they bash her for no reason.
Shania of course took the high road and never says anything bad about anyone.
I think the Chicks are a joke and trust me nobody cares if they come back or not.

I have never heard of them bashing Shania and if they did they probably have a good reason.

How can they have a good reason to bash the classiest and nicest woman in music, that is absurd to say.
THe Dixie Chicks have big mouths and no class at all and they will find out that nobody gives a rat ass about them.
I remember when Shania won entertainer of the year in 1999 and they made some snide comment about her. Shana didn't respond to their jealous comments and showed with her success and her dignity.

Nicest? Yeah right, she is a stuck up snob from what I have seen on tv when she is on red carpets. Its almost hard to watch because she seems so rude to tv correspondents. I still love her but she needs to change her attitude.

froggert, you are so full of crap. How the hell can you judge someone on a red carpet. Give me a break, anyone who knows her or has met her says she is the nicest and down to earth person to meet.
Name one person who has ever said Shania is not nice. News flash, shy people can seem snobish but hey really are just shy and distant and are not that comfortable giving interviews. shania has always been a recluse and private.
Until you find one credbile person in the last 10 years who has anything bad to say abuot shania then you should keep your trap shut.

Shania is a class act. I am not denying that. But her attitude isnt working for me at all. It might be because she is private but still...she is taking it too far

Shania may be taking it too far by living in Switzerland,New Zealand and the CArribean now but she is very private and likes to get away.
But she always treats everybody with respect and never uses her fame and power to advantage. she says she doesn't even tell a restaurent her name and never gets a table because of her name,she uses her original name Eilleen.
I wish she would live in North America so she can attend more awards shows and be in public more but she chose to live a private life with her family and I respect that.

Still! I think she needs to come back to the states or her homeland in canada!
