u know i was wondering today can artist make a comeback IM TALKING ARTIST THAT WAS IN BACK IN THE DAY because i see a lot of big artist who have not been out in awhile and flop hard i wanna know why is that .

It depends on the type of material they come back with, the music will need to be current and fresh. Not their recycled pass hits from the 90's and 80's.

I think Shakira could make a comeback into the U.S. market (no shade I know shes huge internationally)

But i think if she chose the right material she could slay Laundry Service style

Massive? OK, what's your definition of a "massive break." The longest break madonna took was at least 2 years and even that not considered massive.
