the grammys only use her for the latin categories even though her English albums have ALL been critically acclaimed.

I think the curse is about not being able to repeat or mantain the same success you were having when you won.

But she did it with Stripped. it made her a worldwide superstar/icon.

also Lady Marmalade could have gotten a ROTY nom in 2002.

The Grammys have obviously never been here for Britney, and Christina... well, for the likelihood for her to even see a possibility for an AOTY nod in the future, she'd have to make an album that will blow everyone away, and get everyone on this forum off her back for once. I don't believe either women will ever be nominated in that category in their lifetimes.

And the Best New Artist curse hasn't affected her. She would've had to start flopping pretty much right after she won, not one decade and two more hugely successful albums down the line. The failure she's experienced has been her own doing at this point, not the result of some silly curse. And there have been other winners of the award who've remained consistently successful, the biggest example being The Beatles.

Stop. Everyone knows Christina's debut was her biggest era. 3 #1 hits, radio was behind her, she had strong album and strong single sales, Billboard was on her side, etc. That was her peak. Stripped was not as big as CA was, each of Christina's eras have had diminished returns since CA.

Stripped was her biggest era. Longevity on billboard, Biggest hit of her career,the album got 6 grammy noms 4 of which were for Christina, one of the top grossing tours of th year, The only reason Fighter, Can't Hold Us down and Dirrty didn't go top 10 on billboard was because the chart was so Dependant on radio back then and r&b/hip hop was dominating radio it sales counted as much as they do know she would have charted much better. She was the top female pop artist in 2003 according to billboard.


Stripped also did better internationally. CA was local.

So your telling me her biggest era had one top 10 hit and sold 4 million copies? Compared to an era that had 3 #1 hits, another top 3, sold 9 million albums and millions in single sales?

Obviously CA sold more but Stripped had a bigger impact on her career. it took her out of the teen pop image completely. that top 10 hit was bigger than all 3 #1s from her debut.
