I suppose you have to factor in babies and infants who don't buy music and rarely get music bought for them. Also most old people don't really seem to buy music so maybe it's not as bad as it seems.

they should price all mp3 songs at max 50p. that will help a lot.
digital cds to 5$ and physical.. well.. to whatever they want.
but they really need to cut on digital prices.

I usually buy 20 to30 CDs per year in stores and then I buy remix EPS and iTunes exclusives. I usually get about 100 a year of iTunes cards.
