I'm only counting games for handheld machines

I chose Sapphire coz it was the first game that truly got me into Pokemon, eventhough most pokefans hated the third generation.

Really? I LOVED the third gen. Emerald is still my favourite

Second gen was amazing.

Pokemon Crystal is my pick.

My fav was pokemon yellow up until I played pokemon black.
If you havent played pokemon black PLAY IT- it ***** on EVERYTHING. The pokemon center + pokemart are combined into 1 place. That alone makes it the best.

Hard choices between HGSS & Platinum, but i chose Platinum

I chose FireRed my first pokemon game, I still remember how furious I got after my little cousin erased my data lol

Black would be the best, but the pokemon sprites are so tacky, most of them look fan made.
So my choice is Platinum, IMO it's the most complete game.

Soul Silver. Original Silver is what got me into the series. I really liked the new 5th gen Pokemon, but I agree about some of the Pokemon being quite... silly. Great plot though. I loved the 3rd generation, too. The 4th generation was probably the only one I was a bit iffy with.

I think for me it would be 2nd gen > 5th gen > 3rd gen > 1st gen > 4th gen

2nd gen > 5th gen> 1st gen > 3rd gen > 4th gen

Pearl. Though I only really chose it becuz its the version my lovely Torterra is in.

HG. I moved all of my good Pokemon to Pokemon Black, though.
