I'm sorry but this is just false. Whether the bisexual community wants to accept it or not- THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE BORN having NO choice. Only bisexuals have the option of choosing and I think thats where that belief started. Because they were born bisexual and had both options they assume everyone else did- but if that were true TRUST ME people would remember liking both at one point or liking one and then growing up to like another. That theory is full of holes and is just as ignorant as saying everyone is born straight tbh.

If everyone was born bi and how they were raised develops their sexuality then it still wouldn't be a choice and sexuality would be developed at a very young age sub-conciously so it's highly unlikely you'd remember.

I'm a medical gay student and I'm really interested in this topic, so I made some research and also from some of my classes, and found out that you could have some genes to predispose you for it, but not determinating it. The enviroment where you are developed and your primary figures are more important to determinate it.

I agree with the people saying that its a bit of both, genetics and the environment that you are raised in. Either way, I'm positive that no one, at any point in their lives, makes a conscience decision about what their sexuality is. You can't just decide that you want to be gay or straight. It's all things that have been determined long before you even begin to understand attraction.

Yup. I remember having gay thoughts as a kid (not necessarily sexual but just being attracted to females along with males) so I don't see how you can just be turned gay.

I don't believe I was born gay, I believe there are millions of contributing factors during your formative years and at some point when you're subconsciously forming your beliefs and values, you also figure out who or what turns you on.

It's hard to say. From my own personal experience, same-sex attraction was a later development, but I also know there are individuals who say they've felt same-sex attraction for as long as they can remember, so I wouldn't stake any generalized claims.

I'm not gay, so I didn't answer the poll But, I don't believe people are BORN gay or heterosexual. I don't believe people can control who they are attracted to either though. I just don't believe in a "Gay Gene.'' If being gay means a woman who has sex(ual relations) with another woman and a man who has sex(ual relations) with another man then yeah that's 100% a choice. It does not, it means you have same-sex attraction. If actually acting on desires was what determined sexual orientation then virgins couldn't be classified as anything (gay/bi/straight).
