I mean, I pop ma ***** with it and it's one of Gaga's biggest hits, BUT some stans say that PF is a innovative song. I don't agree, I think it's generic. Fun and cool, but generic.
Not really, it has the same sound as Just Dance except it just has a stronger bass line and a darker synth to it. The song is a bit more dance but in terms of sound her first three singles all sound the same. It's all euro-electro-synth drive pop which pop music had been embracing since 2006. You can thank Timbaland, Nelly and Justin for that.
Maybe. I do remember, long before my stanning days and long before I cared for music videos or charts etc., hearing Poker Face and not liking it much (it was a huge grower) but admiring how fresh and different it sounded. I think it seems more generic now because of the trends in pop music since then.
You didn't hear a lot of these types of songs on Top 40 radio, so it was definitely new sounding, but it was mostly in the sphere of dance music that was already happening during that time.
