Monroe, The Fame was an incredibly different music style for 2008. It took a mixture of 80s music and combined it with mainstream synthpop. Just Dance may be cookie cutter pop music but good luck trying to find a song similar to Poker Face released in 2008. And don't even try to tell me The Fame Monster or Born This Way is normal pop music. Bad Romance? Like nothing before. Alejandro? 80s euro pop. And then you have songs like Heavy Metal Lover (metal inspired), Bloody Mary (trance inspired), etc, etc.
