It's alright really, but only because Clarence was in it, which I thought was sweet, and because of how amazing the song itself is. But it deserved so much better.
Well...it's not that it is "awful." I just think for Gaga it is disappointing. The video really could have been 10x better. I was really disappointed with this one. Certainly a low point on during the Born This Way era that highlighted the major differences between The Fame and Today.
It's certainly not an eventful or entertaining video, but I don't even hate it. Its simplicity is a nice contrast to the overblown video treatments she usually favors.
Ugh. This song should have been one of the 5 biggest hits of the year. It should have sold over 4M copies by now, and it should have gone #1. So many bad things happened.
It's the most flawless song of BTW.... But , oh well... Billboard doesn't give a **** to our opinions.
I know a girl who STANS for gaga...and she was like oh TEOG video is amazing because it's a tribute to rent or some musical...and that's why it's boring
Girl, can't you just admit that the damn vid kicked rocks??? I mean if she legitimately liked it then fine, that's great. But she clearly didn't.
Anyway, I can see people liking it...but I personally wasn't too avid a fan

It's not an awful video. The concept of it just being her and Clarence was really brave and I respect her for doing something that was totally against every other video by Lady GaGa. The framing and editing could have been better but overall, there are soooo many worse videos released in 2011 than TEOG.
I like it plenty. It actually fits with the feeling of the song quite well—just simple, pure emotion. I much prefer it to the pretentiously overdone clips for "Born This Way" and "Judas."
