With the 2012 Grammy Nomination special coming up, I thought I would take the time to educate some of the younger stans on the Grammy History of the biggest winner of our time. Beyoncé Knowles simply known as Beyoncé to the world or The One Who ***** On Your Faves to her stans has won a total of 16 Grammy Awards in her career from 2000-2009. She has been nominated over 40 times, making her the second most nominated female artist in the shows 52 year history behind Dolly Parton. She is also the second most nominated artist OF ALL TIME behind Dolly Parton, there are four other people with more nominations, but they are composers and/or producers and not actual singers. She shares the record for second most nominations in a single year (10) with Lauryn Hill (1999), Eminem (2011), and Kanye West (2005), they are all second to the one and only MIchael Jackson who holds the record with 12 nominations in 1984. She was one of the youngest artists to ever win a Grammy at age 19, a feature that only five other people have done. She is the 10th biggest winner OF ALL TIME, and the 3rd biggest female winner OF ALL TIME behind only Aretha Franklin (18 wins) and Allison Kraus (26 wins). She holds the record for most Grammys won in a single night by a female artist with 6 wins, and ties second for the ALL TIME record with Quincy Jones and Eric Clapton, the ALL TIME record holder is Michael Jackson for his 8 wins in 1984. Needless to say, Beyoncé is on track to break some of these records and make some new ones in the process. If she never wins another Grammy award in her career, she can be sure that she has already left a legendary and historic mark on the show. Let's take a trip through Beyoncé's iconic Grammy history.
