I'm pretty sure that most of the organizations that help underprivileged people in this manner are church-related. It's just a longstanding tradition in the church. Helping out your fellow man is one of the first things you learn in religious life, and I'll give them that, they really do back that up 100%. Plus, I don't think a person in need would turn down a helping hand because they happen to have opposing views. I know I wouldn't.

There are better charities that focus on actually helping without damning others. I wouldn't give a dime to these people and I've had them removed from places where they were collecting funds. Hell, they came into my business at one time asking for a donation and I had the guy escorted by police for trespassing after having him sit in my lobby for a bit.

The Salvation Army doesn't "damn" others, we just gave you receipts saying the don't .

They ARE helping everyone though, you act as though they are helping everyone but the gays

Your receipts aren't valid. Their website may say they don't, but I know of a gal with small kids who has HIV and they told her they couldn't help her, because of her lifestyle choices.

I don't think they exclude anyone when helping others. Their beliefs are ignorant though. Very archaic views about the world that need to come into the present day.
