It seems the more we allow our minds to be centered on every stereotype the more shallow people become. this then leads to racism, prejudice, and injustice. so i ask is it human nature to have stereotypes? can we ever look past it?
Because it's easier for someone to categorize and label people with certain attributes/characteristics based on appearance than it is to get to know the person individually. Stereotypes have a certain grain of truth to them in some cases, but as a whole cannot be generalized to the whole group.
There are stereotypes because we all have a need for finding where we belong and we channel that in our mindset, the way we look, the way we behave, and what we want to accomplish. We are predetermined from birth to fit into a stereotype because that's how we've been raised and how our parents and parents' parents and so forth have been raised. Unfortunately, stereotyping someone is about as normal as breathing nowadays; it's just not going to dissipate like people want.
