There are also some idiomatic uses of in and on. In is used in reference to cities, countries, etc. It is also used for months and years.

I was born in February.
I was born in 19XX

On is used with street names and days and dates. Also, it's used with planets.

I live on X St, Y City, Z Country.
I was born on a Friday.
I was born on February nth, 19XX.
I live on Earth.

I think that's about it.

I'm not native, but compared to Greek (my mother tongue) and German, it's very easy.
Of course there are difficulties in English as well though (prepositions, phrasal verbs etc).

I think the difficulty of learning a specific language depends on what languages you already speak.

I is only for the subject. Me is for everything else (objects). "Not for you and me", "for" is used as a preposition, so "you" and "me" are objects of that preposition. So "me" is used, instead of "I".

Oh, and this trips people up a lot. "I am taller than her." is incorrect. That is a shortened form of "I am taller than her is", which is obviously incorrect. Therefore, it should be "I am taller than she.".

You's the easiest one though. It's the same all around.

If you know German or a West Germanic language then it might be easier for you to learn compared to a person who speaks Mandarin or Japanese

It is. We have the most exceptions and strange rules of any language, except maybe some Asian dialects.

nah, my mother tongue is serbian - a south slavic language.

french has got nothing to do with english though - literally no similarities. i've been learning french for two years now and i can't say i'm a fluent speaker.

the fact i've got that slight speech impediment where i can't pronounce R the way it should be pronounced in serbian but do the rhotic french R instead doesn't seem to help either.
