Rihanna has found an interesting way to release her new album, Talk That Talk, with Best Buy, but it's not an exclusivity deal as one might assume. Best Buy announced that on Monday, November 21, the same day the album drops, the retail chain will give away the record for free to anyone who buys and activates a mobile phone at a Best Buy store or online at BestBuy.com. The album features the singles "We Found Love" and "You Da One," as well as a collaboration with Jay-Z on the title track.
"Rihanna is one of the biggest stars in music today and we expect this to be a big release," said Chris Homeister, SVP/GM for the home entertainment group at Best Buy. "Leveraging our Best Buy Mobile business on this offer sets us apart from the competition and gives consumers a great reason to visit Best Buy for their music and smartphone needs."
Meanwhile, the singer debuted the first listen of Talk That Talk on her Facebook page on Thursday. Fans can stream it by accessing Rihanna's "Unlocked" app, which has sent her "Rihanna Navy" on missions to earn new information about the album. Rihanna also has been added as a performer for the 2012 Grammy Nominations Concert Live! TV special. The show airs Wednesday, November 30 on CBS and also features Lady Gaga, Usher, Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco, Sugarland and more.
