Lets get into this. Smash has Katharine McPhee (who is incredible), Megan Hilty (an excellent Broadyway actress), Brian D'Arcy James (another excellent Broadway actor, who was Shrek in Shrek the Musical) and the epic Angelica Houston.
The fact is, Glee is an auto-tuned pit. None of that cast besides Lea or Amber are actually talented live, and they edit everyone's voices in the studio to the MAX, plus its extremely cheesy, tired and just bad.
Smash has tons of great producers, Broadway composers are writing the ORIGINAL score, Speilberg is producing and the cast is excellent.
But, no. People are not here for broadway songs. Glee tried to push Broadway starting season 3 and they stared to flop. Now they realized the reason for flopping and trying to get it back on track with better music.

Uh, no. "Glee" is flopping because the second season was horrendous. You can't destroy everything that was once good about your show and expect fans to stick around. I give it one more season—tops.
The first season of Glee was so great. I thought it was going to be MY show until the second season started... I like this season so I don't want it to flop I just want less cheesy story lines.
