Dexter will return for two more seasons, Showtime just announced.
The serial killer drama was renewed for a seventh and eighth season. Each will consist of the show’s standard 12 episodes. The network also closed a deal with star Michael C. Hall for two more rounds. The deal makes Dexter one of cable’s longest-running drama series.
“The series is bigger than it’s ever been in its sixth season, both in terms of audience and its impact on the cultural landscape,” said Showtime topper David Nevins. “Together with Michael, the creative team on the show has a very clear sense of where they intend to take the show over the next two seasons and, as a huge fan, I’m excited to watch the story of Dexter Morgan play out.”
Here’s a question: Does this mean Dexter will end after eight seasons?
Basically...
The series centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a bloodstain pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who moonlights as a serial killer.
This show is good, but this past season has been so boring for me. His sister needs to find out about him or something cause it's starting to get way too repetitive.
The seasons with John Lithgow and Julia Stiles >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I stopped watching after the end of season four. The series broke my heart after that and I couldn't invest in it any longer. The series felt too dark and it felt like they were only interested in having Dexter be the serial killer instead of as a fully realized human being who had aspects of light and darkness within him. I get it the series is supposed to be dark, but at the same time I felt like the series always had a balance to it. A sense of hope at the end of the day that there could be happiness and then the season four ending happened and it completely destroyed that for me.
I'm glad other people are still enjoying the show though.
