Good but dated. Not quite as timeless as vogue.

Amazing song. May not be as "timeless" as vogue ^, but it certainly got itself a second life earlier this year.

Absolutely love it, one of my favorite Madonna songs. She has her feminist moments and thats musically attractive.

It's an alright song. It was Born from a collaboration between Madonna and Stephen Bray for her fourth studio album, but This song is far from her best. Though, it paved the Way for many contemporary artists.

oh lord. this must be one of the best shades I ever seen.


p.s. i'm quite a big Madge fan, but I never really liked this song, but thx to those contemporary artists. I "re-discovered" it and fell in love with it. original material is always better.

and like a prayer vid... still gives me chills everytime i watch it. only the queen.

I love how that video about BTW and EY being thrown around has absolutely not valid comparisons between the verses lyrically.

Anyways, EY is overrated and honestly expresses the worst of Madonna's voice.

why do u mean by "lyrically"? obviously they have different lyrics, but they sync 100% perfectly and pitch in exactly the same places during the verses as well as chorus.

I didn't choose the song being discussed, so my goal wasn't to start a BTW vs Express Yourself argument.

They are (and I was guilty of this, but at the time I honestly thought they sounded that much alike to warrant the scrutiny). They definitely sound similar, but BTW isn't a blatant ripoff of Express Yourself.

And as for the song, I think it's nice, but I have to agree with others that it's definitely not one of her best songs (even the meaning is quite powerful).

Am I the only one who just CAN'T hear the similarities between BTW & EY?
I really try to, but I just CAN'T.
