Rihanna doesn't even envision the songs that others write and produce for her though.
Maybe not obviously like with Rated R & TTT. Which clearly shows seeing how both albums have unique & distinctive sound. But i'm sure she still did. Do you honestly think she's gonna over view & produce every bridge, lyric or chorus by herself? Is that you're definition of true artist? Adele even had writer for the majority of 21 but people still consider her to make real & authentic music . Being a visionary is a different type of "Art". It mostly conveys on emotion, feeling, and a sense of identity. Which is what Rihanna did with her last 4 albums.
Not to say that Rihanna contributes absolutely nothing to her songs. Compare her to Britney's lifeless vocal performance on S&M. Rihanna she just throws herself into that song: energetic, playful, fun, flirty, feisty, ****ty, coquettish; she's game for pretty much anything. She gives it her all.
Britney is well known for doing that in the studio.
It is biased to use the awful S&M duet as the epitome of her interpretives skills.
These kind of statements only prove you don't know anything about her discography.

The whole argument over "who has control over what" and "whose creating art" is really tired.
As much as I love Rih, she makes bubbly, fun pop music that relates to the masses. THAT'S IT. It's not deep and it's not prophetic. Stop trying to make it more than what it is and just enjoy the music.
