I personally think Mariah has a way with words, but maybe that's just me. A lot of people can relate to her lyrics.

I think Mariah's lyrics are a bit too much actually. She tries to be too intellectual and I don't really think she is all that smart, especially judging from her interviews lol!
The leading RnB Male and Female overall is Usher and Beyonce

BEST DANCER: Ciara & Usher. Beyonce is crazy at times as well.

In what time period do u think u sarcastic dog? She most of the songs on the Daydream album herself. Much as it was hardly a piece of lyrical genuity, the fact that she wrote most of it herself is impressive. Also, check out the lyrics 'Honey'...her songs are very well written, with a lot of imagery.

Girl, sit down. Mimi CO-writes, which means mostly her diary excerpts. I wanna see her write a song off the top of her head, only THEN when I respect her as a songwriter.

The people she cowrites with aren't usually lyricists, if you look. They're producers who help with melodies and arrangements. She's said in interviews that she usually goes in with the lyrics completely written herself. That would piss off a lot of big name producers if she was lying about it. In fact, if you look at the breakdown on certain album jackets, it reads "Lyrics: Mariah Carey, Music: Mariah Carey, Walter Afanasieff" or whoever it was that she collaborated with, because it clarifies that the lyrics are completely Mariah.

I was just about to bring that up, using the "Butterfly" album as an example. I think the same goes for "Emotions" but I forgot if so.
