Some great eras (thinking of some Madonna's one) were criticized and hated during their time but are now praised.

When you really analyze where Gaga is right now within the music industry and the impact she's had within Pop culture, her eccentricity which is often criticized, really brought more attention to Pop music and made it interesting again.
I've read tons of articles of music journalists that have an insight on Pop which is more different than ours (usually from Indie/Rock journal sites) that mention how Gaga has brought her own ideas into Pop through her "strangeness", which is honestly a great thing.
Rihanna, Katy Perry etc. are
SAFE. They would never even dare contradict pop culture. Rather, they
FOLLOW. This is the truth.
