I think people underetimate jazz and that there are different types of jazz. She also didn't say how much jazz was on the album or how it had been used. Plenty of ar**** nowadays mix different types of music or use on mainly and have a undertone or background beat (that can become an overtone in parts of the song) that is completely different and it sounds great. She could jut be using bits of jazz, and yes there is such a thing as popular jazz, to give a jazzy feel which can be very funky, original and fun. It could also only be on a few tracks. We don't know it will be boring until we hear it, exempting those people who go to listen to it with their minds made up already and unwilling to change it no matter what.
