I've definitely "enlightened" people about Bey (specifically those who ignorantly stated, "But she can't sing live, though...) To anyone who has actually seen a live Beyoncé performance, that statement sounds absolutely ricockulous!

Real life isn't a battleground like much of ATRL is, though. Outside of these forums people just listen to what they like... if they don't like it most people don't make a huge deal about it. Imagine this scenario (which seems normal on ATRL but would be HILARIOUS and weird IRL):
Person A carries around the deluxe version of GaGa's "BTW." Person B carries around the deluxe version of Bey's "4." They start comparing, track by track, which songs are "better" and by the end they're either ripping one another's hair out or no longer talking...
Yeah... I'd love to see it, but it'd be 100% mayhem & foolishness!
In all honesty, if someone IRL doesn't like Beyoncé, all power to them. Even if I don't agree with someone's assessment of one of her songs or videos, I can respect people's likes and dislikes. In fact, one of my good friends generally likes Bey but always says "barf" every time I mention her on fb. He isn't very pleased with the 4 era... and that's fine.
There are definitely times I wish ATRL was more like "real life." After all, ATRL is REAL, but much of what we discuss gets sensationalized and taken out of context (but it IS entertaining...

). I would fear for mankind
more than I already do, however, if the overarching mentality of ATRL began to seep into the wider public's mentality. Heaven help us all if that ever happens.
