I'm pretty sure she's not looking for another hit at this point.
You said it all, bud. Releasing this song will let some people hear a very lyrically-driven, and, IMO, powerful song. We've already sold plenty of albums... let mariah release what she wants! :-)
If she want a poweful song, Mine Again and Stay The Night wouldve did just that and wouldve done better in airplay.
Pardon me.... when I said "powerful", I wasn't talking about the song's vocals but rather the message "Fly Like a Bird" conveys. "Stay the Night" is probably my favorite song on the album, but do I really want her to release it after hearing all of Kanye's rants? Heck no!
The question I have is -- how much promo will the song get? I think a very original, well-though video could make a world of difference. I just don't see this being a big airplay hit as you just said. I think it will do mildly well on Rhythmic and Urban, and get a few spins on pop. Who knows....

See that's what i'm thinking too, but then again, a lot of this success to me wasn't predetermined ya know. Watch this song jump up and become huge. I think it's very possible considering what all she's accomplished recently.... It's just a toss up actually
