The tabloids will dump on anybody to sell their papers. Even some entertainment news broadcasts are starting to act like tabloids to gain viewers. That's some of our culture for ya.

I'm happy for Kelly, but she's only released 5 hits from her album not 6. I believe Gone never made the hot 100 (and it was never an official single they decided to go for Walk Away ). Anyway, Gwen Stefani's songs have all done very well (except for What you Waiting for), so I don't know what they're talking about her having mediocre singles.

Gwen has had 5 top 20 hits (about to be 6). So, yes, she has been as successful as Kelly. If downloads were counted WYWF would be been top 10.

Kelly Clarkson has done GREAT for someone who came from American Idol but this thing is stupid.

Just because u release 6 singles doesnt mean ur great, its called over saturation. Artists need to STOP at 5.

I would actually call her a B+, not a B. I consider the A list celebs/artists who have been around the block for quite awaile. - (My examples would be u2, Mariah Carey, and Green Day.) Kelly, aka my first lady of Music, has only been around for 2 alblums within just a few years. Just a little more Experience and a little bit of time are my only setbacks by giving her the A.

I think by her next hit alblum, I'll see her as an A, but she's close in the meantime, and has achieved real stardom.

So is that what award ceremonies and stuff see her as, cuase i'm sure in the world of celebs she'd be considered an A

What you Waiting for peaked at #47 (hot 100), so it wasn't a hit (even though it's the best song on her album).

Walk Away's pretty much in the Top 40 minus a video. The video is due to be launched next week so it will go Top 10 and possibly #1 as airplay grows.

I dont think it is fair that people are given lower ranking just because they havent been around for too long. Kelly has been the most successful artist of the year (with the exception of mariah carey) but yet she cant even get a A ranking? Look at it this way, if this is only her 2nd album and she has already achieved so much success, how much of a heavy hitter will she be by the time she has been around as long as Mariah and U2? Like i said before, if kelly isnt an A, 99% of artists out now definetly arent.

Someone with an A rating is someone who people know will have longevity. Kelly had one hit album so that doesnt make her an A. If her next album is a hit, than yes. I agree with the B+. Also Kelly isnt a SUPERSTAR imo.

Exceptions to the more than one album/longevity rule is Beyonce and Justin Timberlake.(self explanatory)

Actually Kelly has had 2 hit albums. Thankful sold 2.4 million, double platinum and got her a grammy nomination. Yes its nothing compared to breakaway but its still a hit.

Oh and im just curious, how much did beyonce and justin's albums sell in the u.s.?

I know about that album but she was still TOO ATTACHED as an american idol star back then.
