TBH, I was tearing up as I was making this thread. Heath Ledger was and is my most favorite actor even prior to his universally acclaimed role as Joker in Nolan's The Dark Knight. I wish he never left so early.

Brokeback Mountain is one of my most favorite films of all time. I've watched it multiple times and I admit that I initially thought it was boring. But I gave it another shot and what I witnessed is one of the most convincing; one of the most beautiful, and one of the most tragic love stories I've seen/heard.

i looove it. i cried at the end. the movie only works, though, because the main actors are so incredibly hot. (including the ladies). the score is heavenly also.

I like it a lot but it's so overrated

It's amazing. To think that a lot of that stuffed really happened before. Gay people weren't allowed to come back, they got married, and I'm sure a lot of them do it now, too.

yes there is better gay movies but they didnt win any awards or mainstream success. thats why this film is so influential for the gay community

The first time i watched this movie, i thought it was quite boring.
But when i read the book then watched this movie again, it turns out to be one of my favorite films of all time, i cried like 3 times when watching it. Amazing film with an amazing cast.

It's a nice movie, but too boring and sad

I remember watching this movie and when the love scene came on, my eyes popped out.

I also remember all the controversy surrounding their Best Picture lost to Crash.

People always say "oh there are far better gay-themed movies" and I've seen a bunch and they don't even come close. Most of those other gay movies are pretty much focused on homosexuality (like that's the only thing that happens) and the actors are mostly feminine and that's such a turn off for me.

With Brokeback it was more like "bisexual guys being in love in a time when it wasn't allowed" and again they had Heath Ledger

Jake and Anne are meant to be together in real life.

I love this movie! but my all time favourite gay movie is Shelter.

It changed my life.
