Jasmine to launch International Tour
'Idol' star set for four-month tour

Jasmine Trias, Hawaii's "American Idol" finalist from the 2004 season, will launch a four-month international tour Feb. 20 in the Philippines. She'll share billing with South Border, a Philippines group for part of the tour, but also will do solo shows.

"I feel like I'm reaching my full potential as a musician and 2006 will be an exciting journey for me," she said in a statement. The tour - which will stop in Japan, Australia and Indonesia - will enable her to "share my passion with the world."

Trias also will give concerts in 10 U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Seattle, Houston and Orlando, Fla.

GMA, a network in the Philippines, will produce an autobiography on the Mililani resident, tracking her pre-"Idol" life to her third place finish.

Has she given up on the United States?

her record company is working to re-produce the CD with a few new tracks and re-release it with much more promotion.

her english songs are really half assed. they sound like songs that were rejected by other artists, which sucks. her tagalog songs are really good though. her record company needs to hook her up with better producers

I can't wait for a re-release in the US. Her first album was very poorly promoted and the overall presentation of the album just sucked.

Good luck to her, she has a great chance for success in Asia especially, look at Filipino Christian Bautista. He is huge in Indonesia
