I'm glad I purchased it. It's my favorite Avril Lavigne album after "Under My Skin"

You will learn that in time.

I think her #1s days are gone, BUT if she's properly promoted and her label trust her, things will go well enough for her. I can see her getting a top-10 first single and a top-20 2nd if she, her management and label do the things right. Also, Avril needs to choose carefully what kind of music she will do next album. She doesn't have many more "second chances"...

She was never a number-one kinda artist though.

Girlfriend was the only song she released that managed that feat.
What you said is what I believe to already be pretty standard for Avril. One top ten and one top twenty hit. What I want back are those killer album sales. To do that though, jack, she's going to need to churn out a few hits first and win back a few followers.

IMO she is not the kind of artist that needs a whole reinvention, she just needs to evolutionate her own music and take it to a new level, Making the same type of songs but removing all the teen elements from both (her image & songs) and singing with a more serious tune. Something that comes to my mind is "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia that's the type of songs she should be singing now.

Goodbye Lullaby is very much like that.

I think her image needs a do-over. Stop making videos like WTH and Smile.
