Your Review? (Talk That Talk)
What's your review on Talk That Talk? Rating out of ten and track by track review.
1. 01. You Da One - 6.5/10
It's okay. Sounds like everything else on the radio to me. It really sounds like Rihanna's verse on the "Till The World Ends" Remix to me.
02. Where Have You Been - 10/10......AMMMMAAAAZZZZINNGGG! DEF THE 3RD SINGLE. Rihanna's voice on this track gives me liffffeeeee. (I really hate the breakdowns however.)
03. We Found Love (featuring Calvin Harris) - 9/10 Great vocals and production.
04. Talk That Talk (featuring Jay-Z) - More Jay Z. Not enough Rihanna. That "ohhhhh ohhh oh ooo ohh oowoahhhh" thing she does gets on my last nerves and sounds SOOO computerized. I hate it. But I love Jay's verse. This track dissapointed me. It will be a smash summer single , however.
05. Cockiness (Love It) - 9/10 - Loves it, indeed. Does exactly what it was made to do. SLAY.
06. Birthday Cake - 9/10 PERFECT! Fun for any occasion really and it's just what it needs to be; ONE MINUTE.
07. We All Want Love - 7/10 - Okay. Sounds like something from A Girl Like Me. Not that crazy about it.
08. Drunk on Love - 7/10 Good. Like the album's "Complictaed.
09. Roc Me Out - 8/10 A big step back to me. As GREAT as it is. It's forgettable. It feels like Rihanna's gonna start going for a "Rude Boy" on every album from now on. Good production and vocals however, but HIGHLY forgettable.
10. Watch n’ Learn - 9/10 LOVE THIS! Kinda sounds like it was made for Ester Dean. But it's a really fun song.
11. Farewell - 7/10 Beautiful, the chorus is a little over the top though and once again sounds COMPUTERIZED AS HELL.
Overall I give it a 6/10. BEFORE anyone gets started, I am a HUGE Rihanna Stan, and I love her deeply. I'm just giving my honest opinion on these tracks. It's just a preferance in Rihanna herself. It seems many more people (at least on ATRL) are wayyy moreee here for the Dirrty Rihanna, while others like me are here for more of the BRIGHT, fun, pop-y Rihanna (LOUD). I'm NOT a hater, I'm a stan just giving my honest opinion and I'm STILL supporting this whole album. But I thik ill be more here for album #7....but until then..

Mediocre songs , lack of production , short & forgettable songs, and the singles are pretty predictable.
2/5.

A 6/10? Only one song is below a 6 tho, and that's the title track. Oh well, to each their own, I guess.

I don't think much of the album so far. The Calvin Harris stuff is by far the best. The rest is a mixture of uneventful mid-tempo chuggers and cringeworthy sex songs. I'm astonished that MTV had the gall to call this the best pop album of the year.

The rest of the album is really great too, couple of songs I'm skipping.

You Da One - 8.5
Where Have You Been - 10
We Found Love - 9
Talk That Talk - 8
Cockiness - 10
Birthday Cake - 8.5
We All Want Love - 9
Drunk On Love - 9.5
Roc Me Out - 8.5
Watch N Learn - 7
Farewell - 8
Average: 87%, Rated R's was an 85% exact and Loud's was an 82%. It's much more well-rounded and has a variation of ****ty and classy, urban and happy-go-lucky pop, loving and ****ing. Surprisingly, Rated R has found a worthy successor and its name is Talk That Talk. It's a combination of GGGB, Rated R, and Loud's strengths combined with Rihanna's newer taste of urban ****tiness. It's a winner.

Fair enough. Loud and Talk That Talk are reaaalllly different, as all of Rihanna's albums are.

Lack of production?
At least the thing is beautifully produced.
