Retrospectively Born This Way has done a magnificent job as a lead single, it was the incarnation of what she had been preaching for 5 months (not that I love the fact that she preaches, she's been doing it tew much tbh). But it was coherent.

What I would have done is:

1. MTN as 2nd single instead of Judas
2. Not release Judas at all
3. TEOG 3rd single but like late summer (not rush release it) and of course a better vid
4. Heavy Metal Lover or Scheisse as 4th single end of November

Then choose Bloody Marry or one of the above if not released as 5th single

Anyways, the this era seems to be back on track, hope MTN vid is fierce and Fun, cauz we need fun this era! All I'm hoping is Scheisse and HML as next singles now

No one can deny that BTW wasn't a good first single. The fact that it was #1 for six weeks can only indicate that the general public genuinely liked it as well, despite the Madonna controversy. I still hear it all the time on TV, radio etc. Plus, it's the most important song to Gaga so I think she was allowed to release it first

Of course we can only imagine how MTN would have performed if it was first
