SHE’S spent many years as a vanilla sweet Disney princess, but Selena Gomez has ventured to the dark side after having a dig at Lady Gaga.
Selena didn’t half rub up the queen of pop Lady Gaga the wrong way at the MTV EMAs in Belfast.
Selena, 19, went all out to get the LOLs on the night.
But when she wore a pink poodle wig on her head which appeared to mock Gaga’s famously odd headgear, it didn’t go down well.
A source said: “There was a chill in the air – everybody was holding their breath, nervous about how Gaga would take the dig.”
Yowza!
Selena tried to make amends by saying: “It’s no secret I want to dress like her.”
But maybe that was what prompted Gaga, who perched on a moon to perform new single Marry The Night, to throw a strop.
My mole tells me: “Gaga was fuming at Selena’s slight at her. She took it personally and there was a lot of effing and blinding backstage.
“Selena was not allowed anywhere near Gaga backstage.
“She couldn’t believe Selena had gone there, she was stunned. She takes her art very seriously.”
Selena had hinted about the wig – which I’ve mocked up – saying: “I’m going to wear things I wouldn’t normally wear tonight.” She added: “It’s not meant to offend anyone. It’s all lighthearted and fun.”
I really don't think GaGa would be upset over this. Plus it's not like Selena said anything mean or negative about her. She actually called her the current queen of pop, in her opinion, in one of her recent interviews.
I don't believe this, but if true, GaGa needs to seriously get off that mess. People will poke fun at the way she dresses. I just can't see GaGa taking that seriously.
