Russian Roulette was a really bad choice for a first single. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite lead singles from her, but Def Jam had to have known that it wouldn't be well-received by radio stations and casual listeners. I don't care about a #1 album either. I gave up worrying about it several eras ago. It's really silly that people are obsessed with it, actually. I understand that we're all stans and we want that not only for Rihanna but ourselves, but it isn't an easy feat. I'd much rather have a top 3 album that ends up selling 6 million worldwide a year into the era than a #1 album that stalls at 2 million.
