Nicki Minaj plans to head back to the studio this fall to begin work on her sophomore LP, the follow-up to 2010's Pink Friday. The over-the-top rapper is keeping most of the album details close to the vest, but does say that one of her personas will play a big part on the LP.
"I don't know, I don't think I'm hitting up anybody for features for this sophomore album," she told us backstage at the Femme Fatale Tour. She added that the vibe will be decided by the one and only "Roman ... possibly. But I never give away all my secrets."
"My best work is ahead of me, not behind me. Stay tuned," she explained. "As soon as I get off this tour [which wraps this month], I'm headed to L.A. to work on this sophomore album and it's gonna be epic."

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Her Sophomore Album
Before announcing the nominees for the American Music Awards, Nicki Minaj was dishing out details on her new album.
The Young Money Barbie who's up for two AMAs spoke with Global Grind on her sophomore album scheduled to hit stores next year.
According to Nicki, it's "giving her life."
"The new album is just giving me so much life and more importantly, I know my core fans and the world will really appreciate and recognize that I grew for this second album."
She also made sure to speak on the fulfillment of her dream to get a platinum plaque.
"It's been a whirlwind, it's been a blessing from God. My fans have really gotten me through it. They really have just supported me from the beginning. I've been doing mixtapes for the last five years, so it's not like I just started rapping, it's that I just started getting recognized for rapping. It's a dope feeling. I forgot that all I wanted was a platinum album! See, dreams do come true, because I definitely have that platinum album plaque hanging on my wall at home right now."
I really want to get into her with this new era. She's an amazingly talented rapper, but I thought most of the songs on Pink Friday and the whole image she had during that era was pure trash.
Why must she use so many characters? What I want her to do is to kill all of them, take off all the wigs and make up and give us a real rap album. I liked Pink Friday. I'll admit, I ****ing loved it. But it was way more Pop then I expected.
