A tour kinda sustains the album more than vice-versa. Successful tours have more to do with how large your devoted stanbase is than how many #1s you've racked up in the past few months. That's why Gaga's debut tour doing so well was such a big deal. Other artists have put up the kind of singles chart run she did, not many were able to accumulate a large rabid fanbase in such a short period of time.
They texted me earlier that they played it and that was after someone said it was at 7 plays here. So that would make 8. They may have played it between the time they texted me and now (making 9), and then now, making it 10.
I don't think the general public has turned its back on gaga just yet. Will they in the future? Probably. The very far future. Like 10-20 years+
but right now shes still the main attraction for award shows and everyones always talking about her videos/outfits/music so shes still hugely relevant. We dont have to worry about this 'lets appeal to the general public some more' **** until gaga goes through a phase where she thinks creating hits makes her manufactured and hollow.
That phase will happen one day. And she will make the most horrible music ever. Until then- lets sitback and enjoy the success and peak.
I don't like this idea tbh. She is just in her second LP.
It's too soon for stadiums imo. Watch her having at least one or two of those dates with half of the stadium's capicity (and as usual, that will cause some meltdowns in this thread )
A Gaga concert audience isn't comprised of hardcore stans - lot of girls, lots of straight young couples. Being liked by the GP is important.
Obviously the general public isn't unimportant, but there's a reason why Katy/Rihanna can rack up those #1s in a way Gaga never could (even at her height of popularity) and still not match her tour numbers.
