The VMA period for each year usually runs from June to June. So here's the question...we are more than halfway through contenders for this year's VMAs...what videos do you think have already earned a spot in the nomination categories?

Kanye West "Touch the Sky" (From the trailer, it looks hot)

Mariah Carey "Don't Forget About Us"
Madonna "Hung Up" (Dance Video)
Pink "Stupid Girls"
Beyonce "Check On It"

The 2006 Video Music Awards haven't really crossed my mind at all, but how cool would it be if MTV got their heads out of their asses and gave Korn a f‘cking chance at a moonman again? "Twisted Transistor" is far from their best, but their best was absolutely SHAFTED several years ago, so I guess it doesn't matter as long as it features rap stars. They need a video that is even crazier though, more groundbreaking. Korn will get at least 2 nominations this year, methinks...

Videos that need to be included or else MTV will burn:
nine inch nails, "Only" (2-3 technical categories, Best Rock Video, Video of the Year)
P.O.D., "Goodbye for Now" (Best Rock Video)
The All-American Rejects, "Move Along" (Best Group Video)
Eminem, "When I'm Gone" (Best Rap Video)

I think "Bat Country," "Dance, Dance" and "The Ghost of You" will definitely get nods as well.

watch Check On It be heavily nominated...maybe like 6-7 nominations. The MTV public love her so much....

Others that will get nods are Kelly Clarkson, Fallout Boy, Coldplay (don't ask me why), Shakira, Lindsay Lohan and Kanye West.

But it won't matter cuz the way things are now, Beyonce will win every award she's nominated for....does it really matter? Releasing such a skanky video with a pink background could be over the top here....

well, I think there's still way too much time left to properly come up with winners and what not.
