Justin Bieber to unwrap a Billboard 200 #1
Quote:
As reported earlier this week, Justin Bieber's first holiday album, "Under the Mistletoe," is about to decorate the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources suggest t he singer's set could sell 200,000 to 220,000 by week's end on Sunday, Nov. 6.
On SoundScan's Building chart below -- a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants, Bieber is at No. 1, while rapper Wale is firmly in second place with his new "Ambition."
Those in the know are thinking that Wale may sell upwards of 160,000 to 175,000 and is a safe bet for a No. 2 arrival on the Billboard 200 next Wednesday (Nov. 9). His last album, "Attention Deficit," spent just two weeks on the list, peaking at No. 21. The new set's current single, "That Way," is in its fourth non-consecutive week at No. 4 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Three more new releases fill out the top five of SoundScan's Building Chart at Nos. 3-5, respectively: Miranda Lambert's "Four the Record," Florence + the Machine's "Ceremonials" and Susan Boyle's "Someone to Watch Over Me."
While currently it appears that Boyle is behind both Lambert and Florence, sources are theorizing that "Someone" will debut ahead of them both, with around 145,000 sold. Lambert and Florence, on the other hand, are tracking to do maybe 130,000 and 90,000, respectively. Of course, if either of the latter two albums have a sizzling weekend at retail, they could come in ahead of Boyle next week. We'll have to wait and see.
While the Building chart boasts an entire top five made up of debuts, the likeliness of that happening is rather small. Adele's "21" will probably sell around 100,000, which should place it ahead of Florence's "Ceremonials." This past week's No. 1 debut, Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto," should also hold in the top five -- with perhaps 130,000 to 160,000.
As for the rest of the Building chart, the previously mentioned Coldplay and Adele are found at Nos. 6 and 7, respectively, while Tyrese's new "Open Invitation" is in the No. 8 slot. Two albums that debuted this past week, Michael Buble's "Christmas" and Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger," hold down the Nos. 9 and 10 positions

I hate to say this but if it wasn't for Adele, those 100k sales would have gone to SuBo

I don't care about Justin, I just hope to see Susan Boyle, that ugly average-voiced hag flopping HARD.

I didn't lie though. She isn't that good of a singer, her voice is overrated, and her albums are trash. It's a lot better to see Justin Bieber atop.

He loses points for releasing a christmas song in October, and then a Christmas album the day after Halloween. Congrats on the sales, but still.... next time wait until Black friday.

I can't at everyone getting at this. Michael Buble released his Christmas album a week earlier than Bieber and no one seems to care. But when Bieber does it...

Right. Like it actually matters? It's winter, it's not like he's releasing in the summer.

Death. You know that the only people buying his album are the same ones who'd buy it regardless of the season. Let's not.
