As for killing off Laurie in Halloween 4-6, they had no choice. Jamie Lee Curtis was a "big star" and they would have had to pay her alot of money. Thats also why Danielle Harris got replaced in number six. They put out the dough for JLC to come back for H20. (I'm still surprised she agreed to do Resurrection.)
H20 was too funny. They treated 4-6 like they didn't happen, and Laurie's character completely forgets about the daughter she had (and is now dead). She techincally has a grandson running around somewhere.
I know wayyyy to much about this series (I even went to a convention a few years back.)

I agree.

Though, I will admit that I do like the movie. It's definitely a cult classic. The characters in the movie are so weird, and the acting is pretty bad. And don't even get me started on the death scenes.
Yeah, and it's a good thing that they didn't have Laurie do 4-6 because the storyline would have been extremely boring after awhile. It's like with the Scream movies, where the killer is after Sydney in every movie. The niece angle was a smart idea, because they were able to hire an actress for much cheaper and revive the series for a younger audience, but it became boring fairly quickly. It's sad that the 6th movie was such a mess. I've always been bothered by how unorganized the series was.
I know, that was terrible.

Even just one line mentioning that she faked her death to protect her and her daughter would have been good enough for me. But acting like she never had a daughter, and all of those people never died? A mess. But the way I've always viewed the two different timelines is the two possible outcomes if Laurie lived or died. Had she been destined to die, she would have married and had a daughter that was eventually hunted down and killed. Had she faked her death following the events of Halloween 2, she would have lived, married, had a kid and became a teacher; only to be tracked down by Michael 20 years later. The two timelines could have been acceptable, had the characters in the H20 and Resurrection mentioned them.
