Discussion: Is this child abuse?

For about a minute, the ordeal appears to have ended after both parents leave the room and shut the door. But the judge then storms back into the room and the beating resumes.
Hallie Adams said she was "completely brainwashed and controlled" by her ex-husband.

I was about read/watch this earlier, but said nope.

Yes, it's child abuse. The girl didn't do anything to warrant a beating like that. "Lay down or I'll spank you in your (expletive) face." All of that because she didn't lay down. Threatening to beat her into submission?

What makes it worse is the fact that he's a judge that handles child abuse cases. I hope his ass gets locked up and beaten into submission in jail. Her mom needs her ass beat, too.

Over downloading video games onto the PC. Any way, I saw this earlier. DISGUSTING behavior, what's more frustrating other than watching it is that the parents won't be charged. I'm sure him being a judge helped him get away from being charged. And her taping it basically says that her being beat has happened several times before. And she's disabled, just sad.

You basically summed it up.

In the video (and in the daughter's description), he (the father/judge) mentions the fact that he hates computers and thinks they're a terrible idea. And she was basically beaten because she was downloading and playing video games and music that weren't available legally at the time. Of course most parents (especially ones in the criminal justice field) would be atleast somewhat disappointed in their children because of this, but it does not warrant a savage beating. On top of that, the daughter has cerebral palsy.

Her dad has now put out a long-ass statement that in short form makes, or attempts to, Hilary look like a blackmailer. He said since she recently dropped out of college, he was gonna cut of what minimal funding (According to her) he gives her and her Mercedes he bought her would be took away.

Like it negates the fact you beat a 16 year old disabled kid.

the mother wasnt so bad but he seemed to enjoy abusing her. i cant believe she has a disability too, this guy doesnt deserve children!!
