Yes, it's happening. CDs will die the same death that vinyl did. It may remain in production for a very, very small segment of the population, but I imagine that a decade from now, the vast majority will not be using disk drives anymore.
There is some allure about CD's that make it the majority of sales for music. This isn't happening anytime soon.
I also don't buy digital albums. Mediafire is my digital store for singles and albums I can't find in stores. Also, if this happens, music would be ruined. Too many people without iTunes or a iPod like items wouldn't even bother.
Yeah this is not gonna happen that soon.
Anyway, I refuse to buy digital copies and so do many others, depending on what album they buy.
I mean, Susan Boyle probably sold like 270 digital copies of her last CD
